Sandy's Sunflower Wedding

This was a simple yet elegant way to do a fall themed wedding cake.  This client was on a strict budget so fake flowers were used, however it could easily be done with real flowers or even gum paste flowers.  The bottom cake was carrot cake with a cream cheese filling, the middle was a pumpkin spice cake with spiced cream cheese filling and the top cake was a spiced apple cake with vanilla cinnamon buttercream.  The whole cake was covered in white fondant with real ribbon acting as the borders and decoration.  I covered the cake board in leaves (also fake) to finish off the fall theme.

Jenny's Beach Wedding

This wedding cake was fun to do! The bottom tier was carrot cake with cream cheese filling, the middle tier was chocolate cake with strawberry filling, and the top cake was a gluten free carrot cake with cream cheese filling (the bride has a sever gluten allergy).

It was covered in ivory fondant and decorated with real seashells, which I bleached and cleaned before using.  I used cookie crumbs mixed with sugar to imitate the sand at the bottom.

This cake was fun because the unique style of starfish were used throughout all of the decorations and on the table settings.

Baby Bassinets

For a baby shower a client asked that I make 2 bassinets (the mommy to be was having twins). These were oval shaped cakes covered in white fondant with fondant decorations. The whole cake was then airbrushed with a pearl sheen to make it shiny.

I made the top of the bassinet out of crispy treats and covered them with fondant as well.

I used a pastry cutter with a decorative edge to make each of the blankets look quilted. The sides were given a triangle quilted pattern and I used edible blue and pink shiny pearls on the sides.

The bear was made out of fondant, and there were baby foot prints surrounding the base of the cake. I used fondant to also make the ruffle along the top and the bottom of the cake.

The babies were made out of fondant as well, and were decorated to look like the parents to be.

Overall these were fun cakes to have at a baby shower and could easily serve 25.

A Fall Tasting

This was for a dessert tasting, so I made small bite size desserts. The first dessert were mini French style apple pies, with the crumb topping.

The second dessert was layers of cheesecake filled with a cranberry orange jelly and a toasted graham cracker crumbs.  It was topped with a small amount of the filling and some fresh orange zest.

Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the last dessert, a mini pumpkin cake with a dollop of spiced cream cheese frosting.

It's a Duck Wedding

This was for a small wedding, so a single layer cake was what the client was looking for.  It is a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and was covered in fondant.

I did a swirly pattern on the top out of buttercream.  The client provided these adorable bride and groom ducks.

I used a stripe of pink fondant around the base and decorated it to look like ribbon using pink and yellow buttercream as well.

Lindsy's Wedding

Lindsy's was looking for a tall looking wedding cake that could serve about 120 people.  This cake was covered in pastel pink fondant, with white buttercream piping designs and pink shimmer ribbon.  I used a few extra fresh Gerbera Daisies left over from the centerpieces to tie it all together.

Bauba's Birthday

This awesome whimsical birthday cake was covered in colored buttercream with fondant accents.  The silver stars on top were hanging from silver wire and were dangling over the side of the cake.  It isn't overly apparent from the picture but it was frosted so the layers were larger at the bottom and frosted at an angle.

The cupcakes went along with this cake and were in the shape of a star.  The too were frosted with buttercream and have fondant accents.

Gerbera Daisy Cupcakes

These were for the Bridal Shower for Lindsy (see Lindsy's Wedding Cake).  Her wedding was bubblegum pink and white with Gerbera Daisies, so it seemed only fitting to do multiple types of pink fondant Gerbera Daisies to go on top of her cupcakes.

The Princess and the Frog

This was such a fun cake to do! It was based on the Disney Movie, The Princess and the Frog.  The frogs, and crown are all made out of gum paste.

Melanie Baptism

This cake was a challenge because they wanted a cross cake that serves 50-60.  Due to the shape of the cake, there was no way to make it that large without it looking distorted and semi "coffin" like.  The solution was to make a smaller cake and serve matching cupcakes with it.  Overall, this cake was about the size overall of a 1/4 sheet cake, and served approximately 30 people.  It was covered with buttercream and fondant pink and white daisies.

A Day to Hit the Green

This mini 6 inch cake was covered in green buttercream with green fondant for the "green", blue buttercream for the pond, and vanilla wafer crispies for the sand trap.

Pina Colada Cupcakes

This was another cocktail inspired cupcake.  It was a coconut pineapple rum cake topped with rum buttercream frosting and toasted coconut.  It was a little taste of the tropics for dessert.

Pain Killer Cupcakes

This cocktail inspired cupcake was an inspiration after my recent trip to the US Virgin Islands and the British Islands.

The Painkiller Cocktail Inspirational Drink Recipe
3 parts pineapple juice
2 parts cream of coconut
2 parts rum
1 part orange juice
Shaken and served with fresh grated nutmeg on top

This was a coconut cupcake with a pineapple orange filling topped with rum frosting and sprinkled with grated nutmeg.

Another Adorable Polka-Dot Cake

Although this cake looks almost identical to the "Polka Dotted Baby Shower" Cake it is very different.  The sheer pink ribbon on top had a shiny boarder on it and the entire cake was covered with Pixie Dust (edible sparkles).  It is also three layers of vanilla cake with a Nutella buttercream filling.  The writing on the cake was placed on a piece of fondant made to look like a gift tag.  It was also covered in silver edible sparkles so that it stood out from the rest of the cake.  It was perfect for the mom-to-be because not only did she LOVE nutella, but many of the baby things she has is polka dotted.

S, Simple but Elegant and Fun

These S sugar cookies were covered in a rich red fondant with a royal icing piped design. Even thought they are simple, once they were put in individual bags with bows they became super fun.

USC

These red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing were so cool. They were perfect for the graduation party they were served at!

Ladybugs and Bumblebees

The theme of this party was obviously ladybugs and bumblebees.  They were so cute when they were on display because the cupcakes were set next to the cookies.

These were sugar cookies covered in fondant with royal icing decorations.

Both of these cupcakes were vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream.  The bugs were made out of royal icing.
